Mum,

Throughout my childhood, one thing that I always remember is you waking up at 4am everyday to prepare breakfast and get us ready for school. At the end of school, without fail, you were at the school gate waiting for us.

For many years, I never understood our family’s financial struggle, but you always try to provide us with only the best. You gave us what we wanted, even if this meant making them by your own hands. My best memory is when you sewn a shorts for me that looked exactly like the one that I wanted but we couldn’t afford.

Mum, whoever I am now and whatever I do, it’s all your hard work and dedication. You put up with me when I’m angry, sad and happy.

This Mother’s Day, I am donating to a mother in Tanzania on behalf of you, to honor and celebrate all that you have done for me. You have always taught me to give when I can since I was young, and this is just one small way I am doing it.
